The University of Michigan (U-M) remains a national leader in online graduate engineering education.

In its 2021 rankings released this week, the U.S. News and World Report once again recognized the U-M College of Engineering among the nation’s top-10 Best Online Graduate Engineering Programs. This recognition reflects the College’s strength across all departments, with the vast majority of its graduate programs also ranking in the top 10.

U.S. News assesses institutions based on faculty credentials, program excellence, reputation among peer institutions, and admissions selectivity. Factors such as engagement and services and technology are also assessed.

The U-M College of Engineering continues its strong performance with another top-10 ranking thanks to superior marks in all categories. The College’s strong engagement score — which measures student satisfaction and instructor responsiveness — and high ratings in faculty credentials and training, student excellence, and services and technology demonstrate the College’s commitment to academic excellence in online teaching and learning.

With over 1,000+ online graduate engineering alumni and hundreds of current students around the globe, the College’s Division of Integrative Systems + Design (ISD) offers five outstanding online Master of Engineering degrees taught by faculty from multiple disciplines across the College.
