MODULE

This module digs into transportation planning and urban design, unpacking how mobility fits within our cities and how emerging modes and technologies impact these planning efforts. You will learn about current trends in urbanization, sustainable development frameworks, new planning methods, and challenges associated with innovation and uncertainty. Key lectures on scenario planning, along with expert guest discussions, provide added insight and context throughout this module.

You will leave this module with an understanding of key urban mobility terminology, stakeholders of urban planning, methods of system integration, and the forces shaping urban mobility.

  • This module contains 6-7 hours of required recorded material and an associated testing assessment.
  • The module also includes supplemental reading material to bolster your knowledge.

To earn a digital badge for the Planning, Urban Design, and Systems Integration module, you must successfully complete module topics, readings, and testing assessment with an 80% pass rate.

To earn a Certificate in Foundations of Mobility, consider enrolling in our 15-week courses: Course I: Mobility Behavior & Technology and Course II: Mobility System Design, Finance & Regulation.

There are no prerequisites for the Planning, Urban Design, and Systems Integration module.
