Develop a New Program

By establishing Nexus, the College of Engineering is committed to investing in your ideas. Whether you are a faculty member, instructor, or academic unit chair, we encourage you to submit a concept idea for a new course or program. Through a four-step intake process, our team will work with you to turn your new idea into a reality. We evaluate concepts based on a number of criteria, but any proposal must satisfy at least one of the following:

  • Fill an important gap in the overall College of Engineering portfolio
  • Enhance or complement an existing noncredit or academic credit program
  • Increase the impact and visibility of Michigan Engineering on lifelong learners

If you have an idea for a new course or program, get started by emailing your concept idea to Andrea Schuitman at After receiving your idea, we will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your concept in more detail.
