DESIGN THINKING
Achieve organizational growth through transformational leadership and a human-centered design approach.
We are excited to announce our new Design Thinking course! Design thinking is an integral part of achieving organizational growth and creating change. This course equips future leaders with the tools and techniques to approach complex problems with a human-centric perspective and turn great ideas into actionable solutions. With design thinking, you can learn how to support your team members better, move plans into action, and improve your products and services.
WINTER 2024
LEADERSHIP WEBINAR SERIES
Successfully guide your team into new territory by becoming a more effective and empathetic leader.
Next year, Nexus will host a leadership webinar series. Speakers from various industries and backgrounds will share their expertise with leaders seeking growth. Open to anyone looking to strengthen their leadership, the webinars will focus on a variety of topics, including humble leadership, leading change, DEI, negotiation, empathy mapping, and more. More information will be available in the coming months.
FALL 2024
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Strengthen your project management knowledge and prepare yourself to confidently lead results-driven projects.
Beginning in the fall of 2024, Nexus instructors Nicole Friedberg and Pat Hammett, PhD will lead several online courses focused on project management. Course topics will range from an introduction to project management, a deeper dive into the fundamentals, and a more advanced look at technical project management. More information will be available in the coming months.

HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEERING
Learn how to design systems and products to make them more effective for human use.
The Human Factors Engineering course is a hands-on, multidisciplinary training program that provides essential system design experience for anyone looking to solve a wide range of human factors engineering and ergonomics problems. Students will study people’s interactions with technology and environments to create system designs that maximize productivity and safety. Explore course content through engaging lectures, interactive workshops, seminars, and more.

LEAN MANUFACTURING
Optimize operations to dramatically reduce time from customer order to product delivery.
A long-standing favorite, the Lean Manufacturing course teaches essential principles of Lean theory through real-world applications and industry-specific examples. Students will learn the skills and strategies to increase efficiency, reduce unnecessary waste, and enhance overall quality in manufacturing processes. Learn from expert lectures, case studies, exercises, and simulations to acquire the knowledge needed to enhance productivity and increase customer satisfaction.

SCENARIO PLANNING

Back by popular demand, the Scenario Planning for Urban Futures course will return in 2024! Participants will gather in a collaborative environment to learn valuable insights on methods and techniques for creating resilient and sustainable communities. Through an examination of theory, review of case studies, and interactive activities, participants can discover the value of envisioning multiple scenarios to prepare for uncertain futures.
